The early results on Dream Rashad (6-6, 200) are in – the Class of 2026 quarterback can play. Rashad spun the ball around the yard in 2023 with Mountain View High School (Lawrenceville) showcasing the big arm. An athlete in the pocket, also a standout on the hardwood, Rashad is a capable runner adding another dimension to his game. As the offseason heats up, Power Four programs have an eye on the rising talent.

The schools beginning the recruiting process were discussed.

“I have a couple of colleges that are interested in me,” Rashad said. “UCF and Duke have looked at me. Georgia Tech, Clemson, Michigan, and Kentucky have also looked at me.”

Two ACC game-day experiences were had this fall.

“I went to two games at Georgia Tech and one at Clemson,” Rashad stated. “I was invited to the spring game at Colorado as well.”

Staying in state, Rashad spoke about his time with the Yellow Jackets, “I went to the game against Georgia, that was a really good game to see. They played well overall against Georgia. Georgia was one of the top teams, they stayed in the game.”

The Tigers also showed Rashad a good time.

“That was good as well,” Rashad shared. “They have a nice campus. Death Valley, it was really nice to see it all.”

How the interest started coming Rashad’s way was explained.

“At the beginning of the season I started with the JV,” Rashad said. “My JV season went really well. Overall, my season went really well, that is how I got playing time on varsity as well.”

Rashad talked about his development in the pocket, “As I get more game reps, the repetition helps me read the defense better. As I understand defenses, that helps me make plays. Building relationships with my teammates, that helps me get better overall.”

Running a West Coast style of offense with the Bears, the strengths to his overall game were given.

“I believe it is my play making ability, the ability to get the ball to my teammates and let them show what they are capable of,” Rashad stated.

The Bears have a three-sport athlete helping bring wins to the program.

“I play basketball and baseball as well,” Rashad said. “We are in basketball season now, and I am getting ready for next football season as well.”

Rashad continued, “Our season is going really well right now. In our most recent game, I think I dropped 18 points and had 12 or 13 rebounds.”

When Rashad is back on the gridiron, QB coaches are aiding in his development.

“Right now, I am working with two QB coaches,” Rashad shared. “One is based in Florida, and one is here in Georgia. Coach Baylin Trujillo (USF) and coach Jason Campbell. Coach Campbell played for Auburn and some for the Redskins in the NFL.”

With the help from his quarterback coaches, Rashad is developing all aspects of his game.

“I’m trying to get better overall,” Rashad said. “I am working on a lot of different things, working in and out of the pocket, escaping, playmaking, and making something out of nothing when the play breaks down on offense.”

Don’t be surprised to see Purdue get in the mix at some point in Rashad’s recruitment. His father played linebacker for the Boilermakers before lacing up the cleats in the CFL.
