The state of Florida routinely fills college football rosters with high school prospects every season. One of the next rising stars to come out of the Sunshine State to fulfill their dream of playing college football will be Baldwin High School junior quarterback Bryce Tompkins.

Tompkins led the Indians to a 7-4 record in 2019 while throwing for 2,340 yards and 24 touchdowns. This 6’2”, 220-pound, play-maker has a strong and accurate arm which he uses to get sling the ball all over the field. He also has the ability to make a play with his legs when the pocket collapses and possesses a fantastic football IQ.

This class of 2021 recruit is currently drawing interest from several Ivy League schools and it is only a matter of time before his recruiting process explodes.

Not only is Tompkins a star on the football field but also in the classroom where he holds a 3.9 weighted GPA and earned an 1140 on his SAT test.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with the star Baldwin quarterback to get an update on his recruiting process and talk about his junior season.

What are you working on the most?

“The thing I’m working on the most is my running ability. I am trying to get my pocket ability up.”

Would you consider yourself a dual-threat or pro-style quarterback?

“A few Ivy League Schools including Brown, Cornell and Yale.”

Have you been to any college camps?

“Only Mercer.”
