The Gators future offensive production picked up a big verbal commitment on Sunday when Tampa four-star running back Adarius Lemons pledged to Florida.

Lemons has been a model of consistency for Clearwater High School coming up with 932 rushing yards during his sophomore season with nine scores and then added 1,054 more yards during his junior season finding the end zone 11 more times. The 6’0.5”, 195 pound, talent has shown signs of being an effective all-purpose back coming up with 22 total receptions for 190 yards with two touchdowns during his high school career.

Florida fought off a March 24 commit to North Carolina when landing Clemons. Clemons hit the recruiting trail hard during the off-season visiting Tennessee, Auburn, North Carolina, and South Carolina but a July 22 camp with the Gators set the ground for a change of heart.

When Lemons committed to Florida, he made a short plea to Tar Heel fans via Twitter posting, “Yes I flipped please don’t hate me but at the end of the day the grind don’t stop I appreciate all the schools recruiting me but I’m727 made mann!! [sic]”

The Gators now have 12 verbal commitments to their 2017 class with a nice even split of six on offense and six on defense. The class is highlighted by four-star recruits Zachary Carter, Elijah Blades, Daquon Green, and Lemons.
