ORLANDO, Fla. – When you know, you know, and Quentin Taylor (6-1, 190) knew early. The three-star corner out of Florida’s Lake Minneola High School didn’t need his official visit to Ames to help make his verbal pledge. The Cyclones got the defender wrapped up on May 14 then hosted him on a paid for visit June 9-11. Now the 21-offer talent is doing his part to bring top players to Iowa State.

Working from the DB Elite Camp in Orlando, Taylor is preparing hard for his senior run.

“Right now, I am just doing what is best for my team; you will probably see me at corner this year,” Taylor stated. “I might move over to safety depending on how the season plays out.”

Taylor recapped why the Cyclones are the team for him.

“I like the environment and the atmosphere; it was the people really,” Taylor shared. “Coach Broom (Deon Broomfield – DB) showed me how I fit into their scheme, and I like my chances of making it to the league (NFL) from Iowa State.”

The time in Ames on his official in early June sealed the deal.

“The OV was smooth,” Taylor said. “I hung out with the team and their coaches; we were chopping it up. I got to experience what it is like. We had fun and ate out.”

Names were not dropped, but positional targets were provided as Taylor does some recruiting of his own.

“I am trying to; I am trying to get another corner and maybe some guys on offense,” Taylor stated.

A return to Ames could happen by the second week of the 2023 Iowa State schedule.

“During the season I might go on a game-day to Iowa State for the Iowa game (Sept. 9),” Taylor shared. “I do want to see them play Texas (Nov. 18), but this is their last year in the Big 12; there really is no point. I really want to see the Iowa vs. Iowa State game.”
