There are never enough dominating defensive tackles in any recruiting class putting a premium on the position. In the 2024 cycle, the list of impact players is dwindling bringing extra attention on the recruiting process of D’antre Robinson. The big man out of Orlando’s Jones High School is one of the best in the nation with four official visits set and two SEC teams vying for his fifth.

Reporting 58 offers, the 6-foot, 4-inch, 305-pound, defender shared which teams are making him a priority with heavy contact.

“Texas, Florida, Ohio State, and Oklahoma have been hitting me up,” Robinson said.

The heavy contact has helped Robinson set four paid for trips.

“Georgia, Texas, Florida, Ohio State, and either LSU or Bama will be my fifth choice for an official,” Robinson shared.

THE BREAKDOWN

Georgia: “They won national championships two years in a row, and they are always putting defensive linemen in the league. I like that their main thing is winning. It would be a lifetime experience to play for them. They are losing a few defensive linemen this year.”

Texas: “Texas that was my favorite unofficial visit, they got an OV out of me. They have some Florida guys there. Going there, there is a good chance of starting my freshman year.”

Florida: “Florida is my dream school. Florida is probably one of the most active schools that are hitting me up. 24-7, they are always talking and texting me no matter the time of day. Florida is always hitting me up.”

Ohio State: “Ohio State, they are a very good program. I am building a relationship with their defensive line coach (Larry Johnson). I am in good communication with him. I like Ohio State, they have a good program.”

Asked what will be the deciding factor for Robinson’s fifth official between the Crimson Tide and Tigers, he replied, “Whoever gives me the date first, I will pick them. Hard to pick between them.”

Of the four schools locked in for official visits, Robinson was asked which program has the best plan for him, he shared, “All of them have a good plan for me, I can’t say who has the best plan.”

As Robinson has put together a short list of contenders, teams have made it to Orlando this spring to see him in an attempt to influence his decisions.

“There have been a whole lot of schools that have come by, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Maryland, UF, Georgia, Texas, Auburn, Alabama, Penn State, FSU, Miami, Kentucky, and Ohio State,” Robinson stated.

Robinson’s official visit dates: Florida June 2-4, Ohio State June 8-10, Texas June 16-18, and Georgia June 23-25.
