Hard Rock Stadium will be rocking come Saturday afternoon when the Texas A&M Aggies head to south Florida to take on the Miami Hurricanes. Both teams are looking for an early season high-profile win and will fight for the victory with an impressive group of recruits in attendance. One of the top prospects that will be in the stands is 2025 Florida receiver Koby Howard.

Recovering from an injury, Howard got to showcase some of his four-star skills last season with Pensacola Catholic securing 13 passes for 176 yards with one touchdown through two games. Over the offseason, Howard (6-1, 174) made the move to Western High School (Davie, Fla.) picking up where he left off. In the season opening win for the Wildcats, taking in passes from four-star Virginia Tech QB commit Davi Belfort, Howard hauled in eight for 101 yards.

“This year I am playing receiver, kick and punt returner, and I am playing some at quarterback,” Howard said. “They are moving me around a lot to get the ball in my hands.”

Asked about his play under center, Howard replied, “I am doing it all – Wildcat and throwing; I’m doing a lot.”

The focus for Howard will always be as a receiver.

“I am trying to critique everything I am doing from my route running, getting faster, and being a better player all around,” Howard stated. “With my improvements, there has been a lot. The last time I played a full year was my freshman year, I have improved in my game all around.”

Holding 30 offers, scholarships have flown in with more teeing up.

“USC, Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, and North Carolina, they are showing interest,” Howard shared. “They want to see me back out there and see me put film up.”

The teams hitting Howard up the most were listed, “Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Miami, FSU, Clemson, USC, Ohio State, and Colorado.”

Summer trips were taken to Clemson, Ohio State, FSU, Florida, and Miami, one game-day visit has already been taken.

“I went to the LSU verses FSU game,” Howard said.

Howard continued, “I thought the game was great. FSU was clicking on all cylinders. They looked like a top-five team. They looked really good.”

This weekend, Howard stays local.

“I am going to the A&M verses Miami game this weekend, everything else will fall in place,” Howard stated.

The relationship between Howard and the Canes’ staff was detailed.

“It is great,” Howard said. “Ever since Aug. 1, they have been hitting my phone a lot. Now that I am down here, they are 30 minutes away, they are keeping in contact. They are wanting me on campus anytime I can make it.”

Howard’s fall schedule is filling up in a hurry.

“I am looking at visiting Tennessee, Clemson, LSU, and Florida,” Howard shared. “Next week, I am going to the Tennessee verses Florida game.”

On the trip to Gainesville, Howard said, “I’m excited about visiting them, I am hoping for a good game against Tennessee.”
