Fun interview with Desert Vista 5-star kicker Connor Culp

Like many Class of 2016 recruits the offseason leading up to the 2015 season has been extremely busy for Desert Vista High School’s Connor Culp. The 5’10”, 180 pound, kicker with a canon for a leg has made the rounds at various camps earning honor after honor like the 2015 Vegas XXVI Class of 2016 Field Goal Champion, 2015 Vegas XXV Class of 2016 Kickoff Champion, and 2015 Vegas XXVI Prep Camp Overall Champion.
At one-day college camps Culp has continued to shine grabbing the attention of top programs like Alabama, Duke, Wisconsin, Washington, and Minnesota among others. For all of his efforts attending camp after camp and his four years of kicking on the field for the Thunder he has been honored as a 5-star recruit by kicking expert Chris Sailer.
We quizzed Culp on all things football previously but wanted to find out more about the prospect who once nailed a 70-yard field goal in practice. We put the Chris Sailer No. 4 ranked kicker in the nation through our ongoing “getting to know you” Q&A series.

Connor, what is your favorite movie?
“Tough question, I really like the movie The Blind Side.”
Who is your favorite actor?
“Jim Carrey.”
What is your favorite TV show?
“The Deadliest Catch.”
Do you have a favorite book?
“Yes, “Unbroken” (Laura Hillenbrand).”
What is your favorite type of music?
“Country.”
Do you have a favorite musician or band?
“No, not really.”
Do you have a favorite song?
“Yes, “Can’t Get Away from a Good Time” by Logan Mize.”
What hobbies do you have outside of football and kicking?
“I love to fish, hunt, and go to the lake and go do stuff like that. I like doing a lot of outdoors stuff like hiking too.”
What do you hunt?
“Birds, doves, and pheasant. I’m trying to set up a duck hunt and goose hunt this up and coming season.”
What is your favorite type of food?
“Sushi.”
Do you have a favorite game system?
“No, don’t play video games.”
What is your favorite subject in school?
“Science and physics.”
Who is your favorite athlete?
“Clay Matthews (Green Bay Packers).”

“Christmas.”

“The Hulk.”

“Because he’s huge.”
