Fun interview with Lewisburg Mississippi OL/DL Preston Haynes
When the lights go up on the 2015 high school football season Lewisburg High School’s Preston Haynes will be in the same boat as many Class of 2016 players, playing at a high level hoping college recruiters notice. The 6’5”, 310 pound, offensive and defensive lineman is a budding star on the gridiron and a true student athlete in the classroom sporting a 3.55 GPA and nailed a 24 on his ACT.
In a previous in-depth interview we covered all things football with Preston but we wanted to know more. In an ongoing Recruiting News Guru “getting to know you” Q&A series we put Preston to the test in hopes of finding out what the big man is like off the field.
Question & Answer
Preston, what is your favorite movie?
“Forest Gump.”
Who is your favorite actor?
“Adam Sandler, he’s pretty funny.”
What is your favorite TV show?
“It used to be Dukes of Hazzard, but now it’s Dynasty.”
How are you still in the 80’s with your TV shows?
“When I was younger I would watch a lot of Dukes of Hazzard. I liked the General Lee but now it’s not on so I watch Dynasty. Dukes of Hazzard was on CMT but Dynasty comes on A&E.”
What is your favorite type of music?
“Country music.”
Who is your favorite musician?
“George Straight.”
What is your favorite song?
“There’s too many to choose. Pretty much play any country song and I’ll know the words to it.”
What music do you listen to getting hyped for a game or a practice?
“I’m gonna listen to Kevin Gates.”
What hobbies do you have outside of football?
“I love to hunt and fish. I play a lot of golf, or hit a lot of golf balls. Music is a really big part of my life. I play the guitar and drums. I started playing the drums in my youth group at church. Pretty much all I do is hunt and fish and play music.”
What is your favorite type of food?
“Steak and potatoes.”
What is your favorite game system?
“I got an Xbox 360, I don’t play it that much though.”
When you do play your Xbox what is your favorite game?
“Madden, I like that a lot.”
What is your favorite subject in school?
“History. I like learning about our country’s past and the world’s past.”
Who is your favorite all-time athlete?
“Bo Jackson, he was a beast at everything. If there was a sport he could play it, even if it was cricket. That guy amazes me.”
What is your favorite holiday?
“Christmas.”
If you could be a superhero which superhero would you be?
“Superman.”
Which professional sports team is your favorite?
“The New England Patriots.”
