Fun Q&A Interview with Kearney Missouri LB Cale Garrett

Written by Charlie Beuttel

Cale Garrett is coming off a monster junior year. The 6’2″, 225 pound, workhorse spent time at running back, full back, and linebacker for Kearney High School. However it was at linebacker that he excelled. Garrett had 157 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions in 2014. After the season, Garrett was selected first-team All-Conference, first-team All-District, first-team All-State, and Class 4 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Class of 2016 recruit attended many college camps this summer including Illinois, Kansas State, and Missouri. Garrett also has eight Division-I offers including Navy, Bowling Green, Western Illinois, and Northern Iowa.

Garrett helped lead the Kearney Bulldogs to 12-2 record and a trip to the Missouri Class 4 state semifinals. He will be the defensive star for Kearney in 2015 and has his eyes set on making another deep run into the playoffs.

Last week I sat down with Cale to talk about all things football including about his junior year, his recruiting process, and his preparation for his senior season. I also asked him some rapid fire questions to find out what the star linebacker is like off the football field.
