Fun Q&A Interview with North DeSoto Louisiana LB Justin Gaskin

In 2014, North DeSoto finished 9-3 and reached the second round of the Louisiana 4A playoffs. The Griffins season ended when they lost to powerhouse Edna Karr 34-13. Heading into the 2015 season, the Griffins have the experience and talent to make a deeper run in the playoffs.
One of the returning stars for North DeSoto is senior linebacker Justin Gaskin. The 5’11”, 215 pound, workhorse had an incredible junior year where he used toughness and will to rack up 144 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception.
Gaskin tries to model his game after former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. At the end of his junior year Gaskin was selected first-team All-District, first-team All-Area, second-team All-State, and Week 9 Defensive Player of the Week in Louisiana.
The Class of 2016 recruit attended three in-state college camps this summer and has received interest from Louisiana College.
Last week I sat down with Justin to talk about his career at North DeSoto and I also asked him some “get to know you” questions to find out what the star linebacker is like off the gridiron.

“Chris Tucker.”
What is your favorite TV Show?
“Family Guy.”
What is your favorite food?
“Pizza.”
What is your favorite kind of pizza?
“Cheese with stuffed crust.”
What is your favorite holiday and why?
“Fourth of July, I get to blow stuff up and not get into trouble.”
Do you have any hobbies outside of school and football?
“I like to fish and ride horses.”
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go?
“Italy.”
Who is your favorite superhero and why?
“Batman, because he uses all his money to make cool gadgets.”
Which team is your favorite professional sports team?
“(The) New Orleans Saints.”
Do you have any favorite sports teams outside of football?
“Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers.”
Do you have any favorite players on the Mavericks and Rangers?
“Just on the Mavericks, I like Dirk Nowitzki.”
Who is your favorite Saints player?
“Curtis Lofton.”
What is your fastest 40 yard dash time?
“4.73, and that was at my school.”
