Fun Q&A with Bishop Miege Kansas RB Dawson Downing

Written by Charlie Beuttel

Dawson Downing had a monster junior year and helping Bishop Miege win the Kansas 4A state championship. The Stags finished with a school record 13 victories in their championship season.

During his junior year the star running back finished with 1,955 rushing yards, 297 receiving yards, and 36 total touchdowns. Downing led a high-scoring offense which averaged 45 points a game in 2014.

In 2015 the senior will be the offensive star and has his eyes set on winning a second straight state title.

The Class of 2016 recruit has interest from several big schools including a few Ivy League schools along with Stanford and Missouri. Downing also has three offers at this time from Missouri State, Emporia State, and Columbia.

Last week I sat down with Dawson to talk all things football. I also asked him some rapid fire questions to find out what the star senior workhorse is like off the football field.
