Fun Q&A with Green Oaks Louisiana QB Jaylon Carey

Written by Charlie Beuttel

Despite finishing 3-7 in the past two seasons, Jaylon Carey has had a great career at Green Oaks High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. The dual threat quarterback had just over 1,000 passing yards and just under 900 rushing yards in his junior year in 2014. Carey also had 17 total touchdowns last year, 13 through the air and four on the ground.

The 6’1″, 210 pound, senior quarterback is now working on learning a new offense and preparing to lead the Giants team one last time in 2015.

The Class of 2016 recruit already has interest from in-state schools including Northwestern State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe and Grambling State. Carey looks to have an even bigger senior season and gain more recruiting interest throughout the year.

Last week, I sat down to talk with Jaylon about all things football but I also asked him some “get to know you” questions to find what this senior leader is like off the field.
