The man can play. It takes less than a minute of watching Landon Dean’s 2023 midseason highlight film to know the 2025 receiver is a next level talent. One-handed catches, circus catches, high pointing, various releases, speed, surefire hands – you name it, Dean has it in his toolbox and is showcasing it this season.

After his sophomore campaign with Loganville Christian, Dean (6-1, 175) made the move to Shiloh High School (Snellville). The move has paid off seeing all his statistical numbers double against 6A Georgia defenses. Through five games, Dean has secured 21 passes for 388 yards with four touchdowns while contributing in the kick and punt return game.

Dean sat down for an RNG Q&A session covering his junior season.

Q&A Interview

Tell me about your love for the game:

“It is fun for me. The feeling it gives me catching the ball, running routes, and having fun with my teammates, I love it. I get a good feeling every time I step on the field, and it has been giving that good feeling to me since I was young.”

What style of offense are the Generals executing?

“10-, 11-, and 12-personnel. We run 11-P a lot.”

Which routes are you running within the offense?

“We do everything, slants, comebacks, hitches, curls, go balls, my favorite, and corners. We run everything.”

From last season to now, where are you showing the biggest improvements in your game as a receiver?

“I am bigger, faster, and stronger. My route running has gotten way better, and my releases have come a long way. My high pointing has also gotten better. I am better at everything, but I still need to improve. But I feel that I am ready for the next level of football.”

We covered how you have improved, what do you feel are the strengths to your game?

“My athleticism, hard work, and my effort. Wherever that ball is, I will go get it. My route running and I have good footwork.”

Have you taken any game-day visits this season?

“I visited Mercer.”

How did the Mercer visit go?

“It was cool. When we got there, they had a band playing and they had food out. We ate and then I met up with some of my teammates. We went on the field for warmups and then we went with our position groups to watch them warmup. We watched the game and left; it was a really cool experience. I would do it again.”

Do you have any other game-day visits you may take coming up?

“Alabama State, but nothing is set yet. My head coach is trying to get me on some more visits.”

What makes you excited about the possibility of visiting Alabama State?

“I am just excited to go. I want to get in front of some coaches, and I want to get my talent in front of coaches. I want to show them my film and get to talk to them; that would be a blessing. It would be cool to see how they do things and learn how they operate.”
