The hidden gems are everywhere along the recruiting trail, and one of the biggest ones is lining up at offensive tackle for Los Angeles’ Harvard-Westlake. Michael Schneider is a beast at left tackle for the Wolverines devouring any and all defenders that come his way. His recruiting stock is rising with a new connection to the back-to-back national champions that is worth watching.

Schneider has taken his college football recruitment seriously dropping 30 pounds off his 6-foot, 7-inch frame, over the offseason now tipping the scales at 305. The big man could always move, and now that little extra something in his get off and lateral quickness is evident.

Six teams have dropped offers on the 2024 prospect with interest growing among the elite Power Five programs to the prestigious Ivy League squads.

Brown, Columbia, and Georgetown are the three I think that like me the most,” Schneider said. “Harvard, Yale, and Princeton also have shown interest.”

The headline grabber, the Bulldogs invited Schneider to Athens for the 24-14 win over SEC East opponent South Carolina on Saturday.

“I just went to Georgia yesterday,” Schneider stated. “I went with Giant Skillz [sic]. We went to the game and afterwards I talked to some of their coaches. Today we did a photo shoot.”

Schneider continued covering the game-day experiences, “It was like an NFL game. There were so many people and crazy-loud fans. There were people doing chants after every play; it was really cool.”

The UGA coaches got to do the eyeball test on the 2024 prospect.

“I got to talk to coach (Stacy) Searels (OL) and coach (Tray) Scott (DL),” Schneider said. “It was brief, but I got the chance to introduce myself.”

The next round of visits is being planned out.

“I am still seeing if I can get down to a game for some of the schools I have offers from,” Schneider stated. “I want to see if I can get out to Portland State, USD (San Diego), and University of Chicago.”
