Houston Lands In-State 2017 OT Dennis Bardwell

Houston continues to shine on the recruiting trail under Tom Herman and company pulling in another talented prospect with Monday’s verbal commitment from Dennis Bardwell.
Bardwell has been a big contributor along Hargrave High School’s offensive line over the past two seasons helping the Falcons notch 15 wins against Texas 4A competition. The strong play up front has pulled in college offers throughout the region. The Cougars landed the 6’5.5”, 276 pound, lineman over offers from Mississippi State, Colorado, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Bowling Green, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Memphis, and Texas Tech among others.
Fans found out about Bardwell’s commitment to the Cougars via Twitter with a post reading, “The next step in life is a great one! I’m committing to The University Of Houston!! #HTownTakeover.” Bardwell included a statement with his announcement:
Houston now has 12 verbal commitments to their 2017 class. Bardwell is the only offensive lineman added to the mix. The Cougars have been busy on the recruiting trail since late May pulling in five commitments; Bryson Smith, Javelin Guidry, Terrel Bernard, Elijah Gooden, and Bardwell.
