Houston has picked the pace back up on the recruiting trail landing their second commit in as many days with 2017 cornerback Javelin Guidry joining the Cougars class on Saturday.

Cedar Park High School got all that they could out of Guidry during the 2015 season using his athletic abilities on both sides of the ball to help capture a 5A Texas state championship. Guidry rushed 21 times for 378 yards with five scores. His stat line was cut short on defense during his junior year coming up with five tackles and a tackle for a loss through seven games which seems like an incomplete stat line (MaxPreps). During his sophomore season the 5-9.5, 180 pound, speedster had 69 tackles, 13 passes defended, and seven interceptions taking one back to the house. He also had 293 yards rushing with four scores off just 31 attempts.

Guidry has nailed down some great offers with Arizona State, Iowa State, Purdue, Tulane, Oregon State, Navy, and Washington State all seeking his services at the collegiate level. The announcement for the Cedar Park area native was posted on Twitter with a statement reading:
