Fresh off a strong showing at the Under Armour All-American Camp in Southern California, Class of 2019 defensive end Warren Hardin is seeing an uptick in recruiting interest. The 6-2.5, 236-pound, rising Polytechnic High School (Riverside, CA) star ended his junior season with an estimated stat line of 60 tackles, 35 tackles for a loss, and one forced fumble breaking the school sack record along the way with 23 quarterbacks hitting the turf. Interest coming in for Hardin includes Army, Northern Arizona, and Eastern Washington. A Division-I school hosted Hardin over the weekend giving him the ultimate gift during his trip, a scholarship offer. In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I sat down with Hardin covering his visit to Air Force with a quick offseason update.

Interview

Warren, how have your offseason workouts gone since the Under Armour Camp?

“My workouts have gone pretty good. I am training with Prime Time Polynesian on Saturdays. I work out with other trainers to work on my 40-yard dash, power ball, and vertical. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have optional practices with my high school to help train before spring ball – I’ve been doing those as well.”

Are there any moves or techniques learned at the UA camp that you have been working on since?

“Yes. I’m not sure what you call it, but it is a sweep move. You sweep to the side, away, out, and up. I have been working on that.”

I’ve seen some tweets on Twitter about this, have you maxed out in the weight room lately and if so, what maxes have you hit?

“My one rep power clean is 275. I have not done squat or bench yet, but last summer my bench was 355.”

Nice. If you will, update me on your recruiting interests?

“My new interest since we last spoke are Dartmouth, Cal-Poly, Cal, and San Louis Obispo.”

Have you taken any unofficial visits lately?

“I went to Air Force this weekend.”

How did the Air Force visit go?

“It went really well. On our way there, stuff happened. We did not get there until 1:00 a.m. Our tire popped on the way there. When we got to school, we got there in time for the scrimmage. After the scrimmage, they had a big lunch for the recruits. After we were done eating. They said they were going to offer.”

You picked up an offer from them this weekend?

“Yes, sir.”

What was it like getting the offer from Air Force?

“It was overwhelming. There were other players there too, about five or six other players there. My dad was blown away.”

Nice. Did you do anything else while you were there?

“The coaches showed me around, showed me the campus. That was fun.”

Do you have any planned visits upcoming?

“I am going to a Northern Arizona Junior Day and to Eastern Washington.”

Have you set any summer camps yet?

“I am going to a NAU summer camp, that’s a one-day camp, and I am going to an Eastern Washington camp.”

Warren, thanks for your time today, congratulations on your offer, and wishing you continued success with your offseason workouts.

“Thank you.”
