Jakob, the 2020 season is just really getting going for your guys with an opening 40-14 win over Kennedy. How did it feel to be back on the field getting after it?

It felt great. We had to wait a whole year to play, November was the championship game. It has been an experience. It felt great running the rock and hitting again.

Working over the offseason, how did you condition yourself for the 2020 season?

Over the offseason, I’d go to a friend’s house to workout, to the beach, to parks, doing whatever we could to stay in shape.

What did you focus on with your fundamental training?

A lot of footwork. Coming back from an injury, I focused on my legs, footwork, and speed.

Where are you lining up on the field for the Pilots this season?

Running back and outside linebacker, I am not doing too much on special teams this year. I am keeping it simple. We only have a varsity team now, we have a lot of guys playing.

In the opener, you looked like you were in midseason form rushing for 137 yards off 17 totes with four scores. You also caught four for 95 yards an put another touchdown on the board. How was the offensive coordinator getting you the rock?

A lot of inside zone like last year. We have a couple outside zone plays and they motion me out going on a route. I am still doing a lot of inside zone.

It is a limited sample set, but from the 2019 season to 2020 where are you showing the biggest improvements in your skills on the field?

I’d say my biggest improvements are my strength, better field vision, and my football IQ.

On defense, you got in on four stops and defended a pass. How is that part of your game coming along?

On defense, I don’t hit on linebacker as much as running back. It is just a position I play.

What goals have you set for the season?

I want to work on staying in shape getting ready for the fall season. I want to just keep on improving and getting better.

Which schools are showing interest as the 2020 season gets going?

Nebraska and Cal are showing interest.

How many offers do you have now?

I have seven.

Which programs were the last couple to offer?

San Jose, San Diego State, and Colorado State.

Galloway’s Offer Sheet: Colorado State, Fresno State, Kansas State, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State, and Utah

This summer, are there any visits you may take?

I am thinking about visiting San Diego State and San Jose State. I’ve been talking to their coaches; I love them. They are waiting on me to visit.

Jakob, thanks for your time today. Wishing you and the Pilots a great go the rest of the 2020 schedule.

Thank you, sir.
