Interview

Robby, when we last saw you in action you were leading Freedom High School in return, rush, and receiving yards. When you pick up in the 2021 season, what all will we see you doing?

I’ve made the transition to receiver. You’ll see me at receiver leading in yards and touchdowns.

What style of offense will you be in this fall?

Spread offense mostly.

Which routes are they sending you out on this season?

They are using me as versatile player, but mainly on deep routes. It is hard for people to cover me with the speed I got.

No doubt. How have you pushed your skills on offense forward this spring and summer?

By doing squats, one-leg squats, dead lifts – a lot of leg drills. I have been working on my routes and footwork every day, and doing a lot of catching drills.

Are you going to play any defense this season?

In big games I may play some at free safety.

You mentioned your speed a minute ago, what have you been doing to increase your and agility?

Running 110s, doing quick runs, and working on my hips to get my turns better. I’ve been doing a lot of stuff.

Have you posted a 40-yard dash time this offseason?

Yes, sir. My top time was a 4.38.

Wow. Where did you run that?

At a camp at our school. I recently ran a 4.4-flat at a Vanderbilt camp. That was laser-timed.

No one can argue that. Do you play any other varsity sports?

Yes, I am running track and I might try out for basketball this season.

What personal goals have you set for your junior campaign?

I want to finish with 3.5 GPA, 25 D-I offers, and I want 2,000 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.

This offseason, did you compete at any national camps?

Yes, sir. I went to a Rivals camp in Atlanta.

How did that camp go for you?

It was good. I went up against Dale Miller and Ethan Nation; I caught a pass on him.

You mentioned the Vanderbilt camp, which college camps did you compete at this summer?

I went to an Alabama camp, that’s when I picked up their big offer there. I also went to a Vanderbilt and Marshall camp.

What did you showcase at the Alabama camp to get the offer?

My speed, catching, and route running.

How many offers do you have?

I have 11.

Which programs were the last couple to offer?

Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Kentucky.

Washington’s Offer Sheet: Alabama, Boston College, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami, Middle Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Tennessee-Martin, Vanderbilt, and Virginia

On your Twitter page it says you are a Miami commitment; what drew you to commit to the Hurricanes?

My dad committed to Miami in high school. I followed the path and committed.

When do you get to visit Miami?

I am visiting on the 24th.

Are there any other upcoming visits you may take?

I want to visit Alabama and Tennessee.

Robby, thank you for your time today. Wishing you a fun visit with the Hurricanes coming up.

Thank you, sir.
