The future is bright for Class of 2017 cornerback Tayari Venable. The standout corner is a rising star for Rancho Cucamonga High School and is already safely committed to Pac-12 rising star, Washington State. Venable’s commitment is in place, but that has not stopped other programs from trying to flip the southern California talent.

Venable also has offers from Eastern Washington and Hawaii, but that list is sure to grow over the next weeks and months. In mid-February, the 6’0”, 180 pound, athlete took an unofficial to Cal and has teams like Stanford, Notre Dame, Boston College, Michigan, Oregon, Arizona State, Auburn, and UCLA all showing various levels of interest.

If Washington State can fend off all the other suitors, the Cougars will be getting a versatile athlete who can play corner or safety, cover or stop the run, and a young man who has just begun to scratch the surface of his athletic abilities. Venable is a two-sport star also serving as a track athlete for Rancho Cucamonga.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Venable at the Nike Open regional in Los Angeles covering his offseason plans and received a recruiting news update.
