Breaux Bridge High School, located 10 miles east of Lafayette, had an up and down season in 2015 with the Tigers going 5-5 suffering a tough 39-17 loss to Franklinton in the first round of the 4A state playoffs.

Despite the .500 record, the season could have been better for Breaux Bridge as two of their losses were by a touchdown. One of the bright spots of the season for the Tigers was the play of their defense as the squad only gave up 17.5 points per game.

One of the leaders of this lock down unit was Tylar Wiltz who spent time at linebacker and strong safety. The 6’0”, 187 pound, play maker had a monster junior campaign as he racked up 112 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and one sack. After the season, Wiltz was named first team All-District.

The class of 2017 recruit already has two college offers and is drawing interest by attending college camps and going on several college visits during the offseason.

This summer, Wiltz has been honing his craft by working on the practice field and in the weight room to become a better leader and player for his team. Wiltz also works hard in the classroom where he currently has a 3.94 GPA and has plans to study in pharmacy in college.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Tylar to discuss his junior and senior seasons at Breaux Bridge and his recruiting process.
