When Corona’s Centennial High School took the field in 2015, big things on both sides of the ball were happening game after game. The Huskies were a locked in group winning California’s Southern Section and nearly pulled off one of the toughest feats to achieve on the high school level – capturing a CIF overall state title.

Centennial went an amazing 14-1 last season losing in the championship game to De La Salle (Concord). Anytime the Huskies dropped back to pass they had a fleet of senior receivers ready to do something with the pigskin. The top target, and for good reason, was Class of 2016 wide receiver Javon McKinley (Notre Dame). McKinley worked his way into being a 4-star recruit (Rivals) hauling in 56 passes for 1,173 yards with 13 touchdowns. Other focal points for senior quarterback Anthony Catalano included fellow seniors Cameron Jackson (43/812/10), Sammonte Bonner (33/488/8), and J.J. Taylor (18/208/2). A couple of underclassmen got some opportunities to showcase their stuff here and there in the passing game and Justin Fisher was one of them.

Fisher, listed at 5’11”, 160 pounds, hauled in five passes for 49 yards showing chain moving abilities averaging 9.8 yards per reception. The budding Class of 2017 player also got reps in at safety last season making him a potential two-way player for the Huskies in 2016.

Fisher, like a lot of soon to be seniors, is prepping for the all too important offseason camp circuit along with what should be a big breakout senior season. In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I got a couple of minutes with Fisher while he was on an unofficial visit to UCLA for the Bruins spring game covering his junior season and recruitment to date.
