When the 2015 California high school football season had completed, Rancho Verde ran up a record of 10-3 streaking into the third round of the playoffs before a tough 52-45 loss to Citrus Hill (Perris). The Mustangs had a lot of talent across the board including 2,000-yard rusher Jamal Scott. Of all the standout talent one up and comer in the 2018 class caught next level attention, wide receiver Manuel Allen.

Allen hauled in 24 receptions for 400 yards with eight touchdowns. Colleges took note that the 6-1, 175 pound, receiver turned every three passes into a score while averaging a video game-esq 16.7 yards per reception. Offers have come in from Arkansas State and Washington with Ohio State showing interest among others.

In the offseason Allen transferred from Rancho Verde to Centennial High School joining one of the country’s top high school football teams in the nation.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I got a few minutes of time with the rising star just before Centennial’s spring showcase in front of some 50-plus colleges. One school, Washington, was on-hand leading to his second offer.
