Out of Southridge High School in Miami, outside linebacker/defensive end Davaris Howard was a wanted man. Among many schools showing interest in the 6’2”, 215 pound, athlete included offers from Marshall and Temple.

Howard has made his way from one sunny U.S. coast line to another now putting his pads on for Los Angeles Valley College. The true freshman has made an instant impact for the 3-1 Monarchs picking up 12 tackles with team-highs in sacks with four and tackles for a loss with six in just three games played.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Howard before the Monarchs’ big game against the Antelope Valley Marauders to go over his season so far and get a recruiting update.
