The Big Ten having no regular recruiting ties to the Lone Star State has not stopped Iowa from treating Texas like they play there a couple of times a year. On Thursday, Iowa went into Texas for a sixth time in the 2017 class this time securing Georgetown wide receiver Beau Corrales.

Corrales helped the Eagles to an 8-4 run during the 2015 season spearheading a potent passing attack with 2016 receiver Jovonta Grimble. Grimble pulled in 87 passes for 1,229 yards with nine scores while Corrales had 63 receptions for 833 yards with four scores through nine games.

The Eagles are off to a 3-0 start against 5A competition in 2016 with their 6-3.5, 203 pound, playmaker leading the way. Corrales is averaging 122 yards receiving per game with 32 receptions covering 365 yards to go along with his five touchdowns.

Iowa was able to flip Corrales away from his June 20 commitment to Texas State. The Hawkeyes offered on Sept. 4 receiving his verbal pledge six days later. Iowa out recruited offers from Indiana, New Mexico, Army, and Air Force for their new big target.

Corrales posted his announcement on Twitter writing, “Proud to say I am committing to the University of Iowa.”
