The Cyclones added some in-state winning talent on Friday with the announcement that John Nagel was committing to Iowa State.

Nagel is a two-way player for West Delaware High School. The 6-6, 230 pound, talent helped the Hawks to a 14-1 record against 3A competition in 2015 working his way onto recruiting boards. The Hawks are off to a hot start in 2016 going 4-0 with wins over Independence, Mt. Vernon, Assumption, and Center Point-Urbana.

Iowa State offered on Sept. 11 working against scholarships extended from teams like Northern Iowa, Army, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, and Air Force.

Nagle can line up inside and outside in the passing attack. He is a big target with long arms proving time and time again to be able to adjust to passes in and around him to secure a big catch.

The Cyclones bumped their recruiting class total back to 20 with the addition of Nagel. Cornerback Octavious Morgan, a Greenwood (SC) native at Butler C.C., decommitted on Sept. 9 after officially visiting on Sept. 2. Morgan also holds offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, and Baylor.
