New Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell and staff have continued to work feverishly drawing recruits to Ames. The newest addition to the Cyclones 2017 class is offensive tackle Tyler Jost.

Jost jumped firmly on the recruiting map during the 2015 season helping Libertyville High School to a 13-1 season. The Wildcats stormed through the season meeting Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn) in the Illinois state finals before falling 34-28 in a thriller.

Recruiters from across the country have recognized the collegiate potential in the 6’6”, 265 pound, tackle. From teams like Syracuse, Toledo, Western Michigan, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Ball State to Columbia, Cornell, and Harvard. The Cyclones hosted Jost on Feb. 27 extending an offer in person during his visit.

Jost made his commitment public via Twitter on Thursday posting, “I’m so excited to commit to Iowa State University football! Thank you Coach Campbell, Coach Manning, and Coach Kueyeski! #AStormIsBrewing #CycloneSquad17.”

Iowa State signed 28 recruits to their 2016 class and are already off to a great start for 2017 with seven verbal commitments. Of the seven, five players committed are slated on the offensive side of the ball. Jost is the third offensive lineman joining Colin Newell and Jeff Nogaj.
