Iowa State pressed forward with one of their top recruiting classes in years landing three-star Mississippi defensive end Cordarrius Bailey on Thursday.

Bailey started grabbing attention during his junior season at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. Stats through seven games showed Bailey getting after it with 35 total tackles, 22 solo, nine tackles for a loss, five sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked point after attempt. Bailey transferred from Lincoln to Clarksdale High School in Mississippi for his senior season. The Wildcats are off to a 2-1 start with Bailey already racking up 24 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, four sacks, seven quarterback hurries, and two forced fumbles against 5A competition.

The Cyclones battled offers from Memphis, Louisville, Middle Tennessee State, Samford, Tulane, Troy, South Alabama, Alcorn State, Jackson State, Colorado State, and Mississippi State to land the 6-3, 215 pound, end. Bailey posted a cryptic message on Twitter before his commitment, “Thanking God 1st & family 4 [sic] helping with this decision.. I thank all schools that offered me and showed interest.. I’m blessed 2 say that!!!”

ISU now has the No. 21 ranked recruiting class in the nation per Rivals. The class is highlighted by four-star athlete Kam White.
