There are certain types of players you hate if they are on the other team but absolutely love if suited up in your team’s jersey… Motie Williams is the embodiment of that on the gridiron. Trapping, pulling, scratching, clawing, and definitely pancaking, Williams was a driving force on the offensive line for Liberty North helping the Eagles to a 12-1 record against Missouri competition last fall. The 2025 offensive guard is an unknown in the recruiting world, but all of that is about to change.

When mixing it up on the field, Williams has that something extra to go along with his unmatched desire to dominate defenders – wrestling. At the end of February, Williams won the 2023 MSHSAA state championship in the 285-pound weight class. The extra use of body control and understanding of leverage shows on Williams’ film.

To go with the nasty streak coupled with his 6-foot, 3-inch, frame, Williams is getting it done in the weight room reporting a 455-pound max on squat, 325 on bench, and a truly impressive 315 pounds on power clean.

Turning his focus back to football this spring, Williams shared what he’s working on as a guard, “I’ve been working on getting more agile to move faster and cleaner. I have been working on my agility and my speed. With my workouts, I have been focusing a lot on my technique, my hand placement, and where I need to hit the pad to be more technical.”

In December, Williams earned his first scholarship offer from Kentucky. Williams gave details of how the offer was extended.

“My coach called me down to the office, I was one-on-one with him and my coach,” Williams said. “That is when he offered me; I wasn’t expecting it. All I knew was a Kentucky coach wanted to talk to me.”

Recruiting interest is now building in the region.

“I have talked to a few coaches,” Williams shared. “I just talked to K-State, and I know Nebraska and Iowa are showing interest.”

The message from K-State’s staff was motivational.

“It went well,” Williams said. “He spoke to a group of us; he was telling us what coaches look for and how you cannot let the hype get to you. He told us to stay humble and put that work in.”

Williams has his sights set on visiting a few schools in the coming weeks.

“I want to visit K-State, Kentucky, and the Iowa schools, Iowa and Iowa State,” Williams stated.

Two teams may get one-on-one coaching time with Williams this summer.

“I was invited to a K-State camp, and I want to go to a Kentucky camp,” Williams shared.
