Oregon added another Salesian High School Class of 2017 recruit on Sunday when Nick Pickett committed to the Ducks.

The Ducks have made a lot of headway into UCLA and USC’s backyard in the 2017 class yielding another prized Pac-12 and Mountain West recruit. Pickett plays some on both sides of the ball for the Mustangs, but will more than likely find his niche in Eugene at safety. So far this season, Pickett has tallied 43 tackles, 40 solo, with a tackle for a loss, four passes defended, and an interception.

Oregon fought off offers from Boise State, Utah, Missouri, Nebraska, San Diego State, Hawaii, Washington State, and Colorado, among others, for Pickett’s pledge. Pickett posted his decision on Twitter:

The Ducks 2017 class is ranked No. 31 in the nation, No. 5 in the Pac-12 by 247Sports while Rivals rates the haul No. 33 overall. Pickett joins Mustangs’ teammate, cornerback Deommodore Lenior, as a future Duck. Lenior, a four-star recruit, committed on June 23.
