Week Three Highlighted Games

Green Oaks Giants 28, Booker T. Washington Lions 14

Green Oaks controlled all facets of the game during the annual Soul Bowl rivalry game between the two schools on Friday night. The Giants scored touchdowns in all three phases of the game getting an interception returned for a touchdown by defensive end Jaden Crowder, senior defensive back Alexander Johnson returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, and junior quarterback John McIlwain threw a touchdown pass. Green Oaks finished with 291 yards of total offense in the victory.

One bright spot for the Lions came in the play of defensive tackle Dezione White. White had a whopping four sacks, one tackle for a loss and even made a stellar play in the backfield to get a safety for his team.

Benton Tigers 48, Tioga Indians 16

Senior quarterback Garrett Hable once again led his flawless offense to a third straight blowout victory to open the new season. Hable earned the victory by completing 14-of-22 passes for 221 yards with three touchdowns before halftime. His three touchdown passes went to running back Jermaine Newton and wide receivers Legend Denler and Doyle Adams Jr.

The Indians managed just a field goal and trailed 41-3 at halftime.  Deven Franklin scored Tioga’s two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

North DeSoto Griffins 21, Many Tigers 12

In a battle of two impressive offense it was North DeSoto’s defense that came up with the big stops to come out on a top on Friday night. The Griffins were led to the victory by junior running back Aubrey Scott who finished with 205 rushing yards scoring on touchdown runs of 26, 51, and 78 yards. North DeSoto’s defense came to play forcing five turnovers; three fumbles and two interceptions.
