North DeSoto Griffins 26, Woodlawn Knights 16
North DeSoto used their consistent offensive attack to improve their record to 5-1 and 2-1 in district play. Woodlawn fell to 4-2 overall but are also 2-1 in District 1-4A.

The Griffins used their rushing attack to run for 306 yards as a team and controlled the time of possession. North DeSoto had three scoring drives that lasted over 11 plays and over seven minutes each. Delmonte Hall was the leading rusher for North DeSoto with 100 yards on 21 carries.

Woodlawn scored their two touchdowns at the end of each half as quarterback Treveion Youngblood threw passes to Arlonzo Chism and then to D’Angelo Carter. Knights’ sophomore running back Trivensky Mosley, who came in with 869 rushing yards through the first five games of the season, was limited to 12 yards on 11 carries.

C.E. Byrd Yellow Jackets 42, Haughton Buccaneers 10
In a highly anticipated District 1-5A matchup, both teams came into the game missing big pieces as Haughton were without their leading rusher, D’Kovian Ware, and Byrd was without starting quarterback Deuce Caston.

Haughton led 10-7 after one quarter after a 29-yard field goal and a 28-yard touchdown pass from Darius Brooks to Josh Lister. The Yellow Jackets made it 14-10 early in the second quarter on a three-yard run by Mason Garfield.

In the final three minutes of the first half, Byrd scored 21 points to blow open their lead after two rushing touchdowns and a 32-yard interception return by Trent Jones.

In the win, Tray Allen led the Yellow Jackets with 111 rushing yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. Brooks threw for 87 yards and a touchdown after completing 13 of 22 passes for the Buccaneers.
