Destrehan High School, located 25 miles west of New Orleans, had a great season in 2015 as the Wildcats opened the season by winning 11 straight games but unfortunately their season ended in the state quarterfinals when they suffered a heartbreaking 49-34 loss to Parkway.

One of the keys to Destrehan’s success this season was the play of their explosive offense which averaged 45 points a game. Two of the leaders of this offense was junior quarterback Kohen Granier and junior wide receiver Michael Young.

The 5’11”, 181 pound, receiver had a great junior campaign where he caught 41 passes for 624 yards and nine touchdowns. After the season, Young was named first team All-District. The Class of 2017 recruit currently has seven college offers and is receiving interest from several other schools including Oregon, Auburn and Mississippi State. Young has already went on two college visits and has plans to visit some more schools before his senior season.

The star receiver not only works hard on the field where he plans to have a great 2016 season but he also works hard in the classroom where he currently has 3.1 GPA.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Michael to talk about his career at Destrehan and his recruiting process.
