Louisiana Tech Football Camp Report

The latest stop on the Louisiana Tech camp trail was Bossier City, Louisiana. On June 14th, Head Coach Skip Holtz and his coaching staff held camp at Airline High School.  The main goal of their camp was to give some exposure to the talented high school football players in the northwest Louisiana area.

The Bulldog coaches led the players in stretching then the players were separated by position and worked on drills to improve their football skills. Underclassmen were given red jerseys to wear during the camp. Senior offensive players were given white jerseys and senior defensive players were given blue jerseys to wear.

Senior cornerback Caleb Brown, who plays at North Desoto High School in Stonewall, Louisiana, had to this to say about the camp, “I really like how there wasn’t a lot of people there so we could do more reps and get better exposure and the camps was ran very smoothly and I really like the coaching style that Louisiana Tech uses.”

Senior CB Lloyd Cole who plays at Parkway High School in Bossier City also added, “I liked that the coaches invoked a sense of competitiveness among the players there. Even the younger guys were eager to compete. I think the camp was fundamentally strong and provided us with beneficial techniques and skills.  The coaches were passionate and energetic.”

In an interview with local KTBS Channel 3 news,  Head Coach Skip Holtz spoke about having the camp in Shreveport/Bossier, “This area has been very rich from a talent standpoint…this area has been great for us.  It’s one of the stops that we look forward to every year coming over here.”
