The Tigers added two in-state talents to their 2018 recruiting class on Thursday when defensive end Travez Moore and defensive tackle Nelson Jenkins pledged to LSU.

Moore, originally from Bastrop High School, was a highly prized end as part of the 2016 class helping the Rams to a 10-3 campaign during his senior season in 2015. The now 6-6, 250 pound, Copiah-Lincoln Community College recruit is coming off a freshman season with 14 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and three sacks. LSU fans found out about Moore’s commitment on Twitter with a post reading, “LSU commit tiger nation.”

Jenkins worked his way into being a three-star recruit with Plaquemine High School. The 6-4, 280 pound, rising star helped the Devils to a 9-5 season in 2016. An early offer came in from Kansas leading to a commitment on Jan. 6. LSU reportedly offered today with Jenkins quickly accepting flipping his commitment away from the Jayhawks.

The second commitment of the day was also posted on Twitter with Jenkins writing, “I’d like to thank @Coach_EdOrgeron for offering me a scholarship to play football at LSU. I AM OFFICIALLY COMMITTED TO BECOME A TIGER!!

247Sports ranks LSU’s 2018 class No. 4 in the nation, No. 1 overall in the SEC, with five four-star recruits.
