LSU found their top target at quarterback in the 2017 class on Saturday when Bay Saint Louis area recruit Myles Brennan committed to the Tigers.

Brennan has been on the recruiting board of a lot of teams since his sophomore year when he threw for 5,797 yards with 64 touchdowns hitting 409 of 582 passing attempts. The 6’3”, 180 pound, talent did not attempt as many passes during the 2015 season but still had a prolific year passing for 5,248 yards with 53 touchdowns against just eight picks. Brennan hit 303 of 486 attempts but also emerged as a dual-threat during his junior season rushing 71 times for 497 yards with eight additional scores.

St. Stanislaus High School went 11-4 during the 2015 season pulling it all together for a run to the Mississippi (MHSAA) state championship game before falling to Noxubee County with Brennan commanding the offense. Brennan’s play making abilities were not lost on college coaches with teams like Kentucky, Arkansas State, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas-San Antonio, Cincinnati, Wake Forest, Memphis, Indiana, and Cal being among the many to offer.

Brennan took unofficial visits to Mississippi State, LSU, Memphis, and Oklahoma State before committing to the Tigers. The news went national via a post on Twitter reading, “Proud to say I have committed to Louisiana State University! #GeauxTigers.”

LSU now has six verbal commitments to their 2017 class with a heavy early emphasis on offense.
