LSU Picks Up 4-Stars WR Stephen Guidry and OT Austin Deculus

The Tiger’s 2017 recruiting class added two big pieces on Friday and Saturday with the addition of offensive tackle Austin Deculus and wide receiver Stephen Guidry.
Deculus committed on Friday after racking up over 30 offers to some of the top programs in the nation. The Cy-Fair talent spurned offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Baylor, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Texas to join LSU.
The Texas talent gave his Top Five to RNG in mid-March listing LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, and Baylor, in no order.
Deculus’ commitment announcement to LSU via Twitter was simple stating, “I’m a tiger [sic]. #lsu”
Guidry was another well sought after recruiting target by SEC schools. The 6’4”, 190 pound, target had offers from South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Missouri and offers from Louisville, Louisiana-Monroe, UAB, and Miami.
LSU securing Guidry was perhaps a little more of a challenge. The Hinds JUCO product committed to South Carolina on March 1 but decommitted on April 29, right after a visit from the LSU staff. On May 3, both LSU and Alabama offered. After a May 16 unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, Guidry listed Alabama as his leader. The next day Guidry visited Baton Rouge announcing his decision three days later.
Guidry also posted his announcement on Twitter reading, “Thanks to the man above and my Grandpa, I’m Officially Committed to Louisiana State University.”
LSU winning Guidry is a homecoming of sorts. Guidry played high school ball at Pointe Coupee Central and Livonia graduating in 2015. He redshirted at McNeese State transferring to Hinds during the spring.
