LSU recruited as well as any other college football team in the nation over the past decade under former head coach Les Miles and appear to be on the same path under new head coach Ed Orgeron. Orgeron and company nailed down a Top 10 class in February with the 2017 recruits and have pivoted quickly with the 2018 haul landing three recruits on Saturday. The addition of Georgia’s Rome High School defenders Adam Anderson, Jamarcus Chatman, and Jaquon Griffin has the Tigers atop the SEC in the recruiting rankings.

Rome High School was one of the top teams in the state of Georgia during the 2016 season posting a 13-2 record behind a stingy defense. The Wolves limited 5A competition to an average of 11 points per contest with four-star linebacker Adam Anderson helping lead the way. Anderson (6-2, 225) played the 2016 schedule as a Georgia Bulldog commit but switched his commitment during his visit to Baton Rouge on Saturday.

Strong-side defensive end Jamarcus Chatman might be the most heavily recruited player in the 2018 class with 58 reported offers. The 6-3, 261 pound, talent picked the Tigers over offers form Michigan, Duke, Florida, Arkansas, Baylor, Pitt, South Carolina, Iowa, Florida State, Oregon, Penn State, Mississippi State, Texas, and Tennessee to name a few.

Recruitment for Jaquon Griffin has taken off this spring. Nine offers have been reported for the end/tackle with Appalachian State, Troy, Georgia State, Hampton, Eastern Michigan, and Arkansas State being in the mix. Where the 6-0, 265 pound, playmaker lines up in college will be dependent on how much more he may grow in the coming years.

Anderson tweeted out his commitment with a picture of he and his teammates with head coach Ed Orgeron writing, “Let [sic] just say we committed to LSU #GoTigers.”

The addition of Anderson to the 2018 class now gives LSU eight prospect ranked as four-star players. 247Sports ranks LSU’s class No. 3 nationally and No. 1 overall in the SEC.
