BRADENTON, Fla. – Being on the grounds with the Hurricanes in Coral Gables has a way of instantly making a positive impact for college football recruits. Once in the building, Miami’s coaching staff has a bit of their own magic building bonds with prospects. One of the latest to leave the campus all smiles is new 2025 four-star IMG Academy linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng.

Owusu-Boateng spent his sophomore season laying out Maryland ball carriers with DeMatha Catholic High School (Hyattsville). Heading to Bradenton (Fla.) for his junior season with the same mission in mind, Owusu-Boateng (6-2, 205) gave fans a sneak peak of what he can do Wednesday night during the Ascenders’ spring game.

“It was great,” Owusu-Boateng shared. “My teammates and I came out today, bonded together and balled out. It was great seeing the defense come together and have that swag. It was great.”

Among the 20 to 30 college programs represented on the sidelines during the spring showcase was Miami with offensive line coach Alex Mirabal there to take in the action. Over the weekend, Owusu-Boateng got one-on-one time with Miami’s coaching staff in Coral Gables.

“I went to Miami last weekend,” Owusu-Boateng said. “It was great. I loved it.”

A strong bond is already being built with Miami’s coaching staff.

“Coach “D-Nic” (Derek Nicholson – LB) and I, he’s just my guy,” Owusu-Boateng stated. “Going to Miami, and him telling me that I am their guy, that was a great experience.”

Owusu-Boateng’s upcoming schedule is wide open with a willingness to go anywhere.

“I don’t have any visits or camps set up, but I am open to visiting all the schools interested in me,” Owusu-Boateng shared. “With camps, any school that wants me to come, I will come.”

The long list of teams wanting the four-star defender on campus this summer would include all of his 31 offering programs with teams like Georgia, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Alabama showing interest.
