Michigan All-State Football: Interview with Cass Tech 2022 3-Star OG Jackson Pruitt

Jackson Pruitt is the anchor of the offensive line for Cass Tech in Detroit. After an impressive junior campaign, he received several individual honors on offense while also making plays on defense.
The 6’5″, 285-pound, big man has tremendous physicality, athleticism, and footwork that goes along with his good hands and strength. The totality of the skills has already brought 22 offers for the Class of 2022 prospect from teams like Indiana, Colorado, Kentucky, and Penn State while also receiving interest from several other big-time programs.
Not only is Jackson a star on the gridiron but also plays basketball and holds a 3.7 GPA in the classroom.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with the star big man to talk about his junior season and get an update on his recruiting process.
Interview
Jackson, how would you grade your individual performance during your junior season?
I would give myself a B-plus.
What are your strengths on the football field?
My ability to move and dominate at contact.
Did you receive any individual honors?
I received All-State and All-Region.
What do you like most about playing on the offensive side of the ball?
I enjoy having the element of surprise and being able to throw multiple things at a defense.
What kind of offense does Cass Tech run?
We run a lot in our West Coast offense.
How do your skills fit into this offense?
I’m able to adjust and play all over.
What type of challenges did you face in 2020?
We had to live in the moment due to COVID-19.
How did you overcome this challenge?
Controlling what I could control.
What are your maxes in the weight room?
My max bench is 315 and my max squat is 500.
Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Quinton Nelson.
What do you like most about playing at Cass Tech?
We are all one big family.
Do you play any other sports in high school?
I play basketball.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
LeBron James, because of the way he leads.
How many college offers do you have?
Right now I have 22 offers including West Virginia, Syracuse, Toledo, Indiana, and Penn State.
What schools are showing interest that hasn’t offered yet?
Northwestern, Duke, Wisconsin, Central Florida, Marshall, and TCU.
Do you know when you will announce a commitment?
I’m not sure yet.
What is your GPA?
3.7.
What are your goals for the offseason?
I want to get faster and stronger.
