Mississippi State pushed their 2017 recruiting class back to 21 commitments on Wednesday with the acceptance of Georgia offensive tackle Montravious Richardson.

Richardson is a massive 6-7, 300 pound, tackle with a lot of upside. The Westover High School product is an under the radar recruit with reported offers from Mississippi State and Georgia State while receiving interest from Middle Tennessee State and Oregon State.

The Bulldogs have been locked onto Richardson for months. MSU invited Richardson to a Bulldogs’ camp in July offering the Albany area talent during his visit to Starkville. Richardson made his announcement via Twitter posting in all caps, “I’m officially committed to Mississippi State University! #HailState #Statefam17.” The post was accompanied with a statement:

MSU is back up to 21 commitments after losing in-state Grenada three-star linebacker JJ Russell on Sept. 8. The Bulldogs class is a nice mix of commitments on both sides of the ball. A big emphasis has been put into the trenches for offense and defense with 12 of the 21 commitments being linemen.
