There were 16 games in the second round of the Missouri Class 4 playoffs and half of them were really exciting games including seeing 5-time defending champion Webb City barely getting by Carl Junction 14-7 and St. Dominic squeaking past Riverview Gardens 3-0. An upset in the second round happened when Vashon beat Gateway STEM 6-0.

Among the 16 teams that are still alive in the bracket, there are many star players trying to lead their teams to a trip to the state quarterfinals including Kearney linebacker Cale Garrett (Navy), Hannibal offensive lineman Dylan Powell (Purdue) and athlete Jerry McBride III (Bowling Green), Center High School tight end Robert Gillum, and Webb City offensive lineman Trystan Castillo (Missouri).

During the eight games this weekend there are several story lines fans should pay attention to including whether or not Kearney and Webb City are on a collision course to face each other in the semifinals for a second straight year? Can anyone take down Webb City? Can any of the four remaining undefeated teams run the table for a perfect season?

Some exciting games to watch this weekend include West Plains at Webb City, Center at Harrisonville, and Mexico at Hannibal.

Who will survive this tough bracket in Class 4 and advance one step closer to state? Only time will tell.
