It was another exciting round in the Class 6 playoffs as eight teams advanced to the quarterfinals. The most exciting game was when Blue Springs squeezed past Raymore-Peculiar 14-12 while undefeated and defending champion Christian Brothers College continued their dominance shutting out Ritenour, 42-0.

One of the best performances came in Blue Springs South’s 48-21 victory over Jefferson City when Blue Springs South running back Adam Cofield had 142 yards and three touchdowns. Another great performance came in Kirkwood’s 24-7 win over Lafayette as the Pioneers had three players, quarterback Reece Goddard, athlete Jerod Alton, and running back Jamahl Scott run for over 100 yards. Goddard also threw for 163 yards.

Along with Cofield there are other stars to watch in these four quarterfinal games this Friday including Christian Brothers College running back Tre Bryant (Kansas State), wide receiver Roddrick Bryant, and athlete Lamar Anderson, Kirkwood athletes Jamahl Scott and Jerod Alton (Missouri), Blue Springs athlete Terrance Sanders, Francis Howell defensive end Dirion Hutchins (Bowling Green) and Eureka wide receiver Cameron Nisbet.

There are five undefeated teams among the final eight in Class 6 and all of them will be fighting for a spot in the semifinals. It will be exciting to watch who can rise above their opponent and take one step closer to state.
