Missouri’s coaching staff and their fans got an early Christmas present on Tuesday when four-star receiver Courtney Crutchfield (6-2, 183) verbally committed. The prolific talent out of Pine Bluff High School (Ark.) had a top four of Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, and Missouri with the Tigers winning out.

The Tigers officially hosted Crutchfield over the weekend, that time let the four-star know he had found his fit.

“It was fun,” Crutchfield said. “It was a fun environment. They were with me throughout even when committed to Arkansas.”

The thing that put Mizzou over the top?

“All the love the coaches were showing,” Crutchfield shared.

Talking to Crutchfield just before his commitment ceremony, the Tigers did not know which way he was leaning.

“I haven’t told them yet,” Crutchfield stated. “Coach Drink (Eliah Drinkwitz) is nervous right now. He’s been calling me all morning.”

Crutchfield expressed how he was feeling knowing he will be a Missouri Tiger.

“It feels good,” Crutchfield said. “I got the hardest part out letting Arkansas know. I told coach (Sam) Pitt (Pittman). He told me ‘All the best’.”

Crutchfield is the 19th verbal commitment in Missouri’s 2024 recruiting class.
