Monster 2017 Clemson Class Grows with 4-Star Virginia DE Jordan Williams

Clemson could be building the perfect beast with their 2017 recruiting class and the addition of Jordan Williams on Saturday helps the effort.

Williams jumped out as one of the top defensive ends in the nation playing for Cox High School in 2015. The 6’4.5”, 260 pound, end helped guide the Falcons to an 8-4 record during his junior campaign colliding against 6A Virginia competition.

Clemson picked up a rare talent who can stop the run and rush the passer. Williams showed off his athleticism tracking down plays the other way, breaking up screen passes for pick-sixes, and blocking field goal attempts on special teams.

College coaches were eaten up with Williams playmaking abilities seeing 30-plus offers extended. In early July, Williams narrowed down his list of suitors to four naming Clemson, Virginia, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech cutting out Ohio State from a previous Top 5.

The Tigers now have 12 verbal commitments with nine of the players being considered four-star recruits or better. Tee Higgins and Hunter Johnson are considered five-star prospects.
