NCAA Basketball Carlton Bragg Officially Signs With Kansas

Kansas Coach Bill Self can officially call Carlton Bragg a member of his Kansas program.  On Wednesday morning, Bragg signed his national letter of intent to become the first member of the 2015 recruiting class for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Carlton Bragg is a 6’9”, 225 pound, power forward who is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.  Bragg is rated as the nation’s 15th best prospect according to Rivals.com. Bragg played high school basketball at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School where he averaged 21 points in his senior season and led his team to an Ohio state title. He is also the 37th McDonald’s All-American to ever sign with Kansas.

Coach Self called Bragg, “a shooting and scoring type of power forward…certainly he’s one of the more skilled big guys that we’ve signed since we’ve been here.”

Coach Self credited assistant coach Norm Roberts for leading the way in the recruitment of Bragg.  “Norm did a great job in working with Carlton and his family to become part our KU family.”

Next season, Bragg will join an experienced Kansas frontcourt led by senior Perry Ellis, who led the Jayhawks in scoring last year. The Jayhawks frontcourt also includes experienced big men Jamari Traylor, Landen Lucas and Hunter Mickelson.

The Jayhawks have three available scholarships remaining and look to make some more splashes during the recruiting season.
