North Texas Secures Commitment from Houston 2017 CB Cameron Johnson

North Texas added a key part to their 2017 recruiting class on Sunday landing three-star cornerback Cameron Johnson.

Johnson could be that diamond in the rough overlooked by other colleges for the Mean Green. Johnson displays great cover skills able to press or play off-man while showing a keen ability to breakup passes in his area. The 5-11, 170 pound, talent is also a defensive lineman or blitzing linebacker’s best friend aiding in cover sacks by blanketing receivers.

Johnson received his offer from the Eagles on June 8 picking UNT over East Carolina, Air Force, Fresno State, Grambling, and Army. The Heights High School standout posted his commitment on Twitter writing, “#AGTG blessed to say I’ve committed to The University of North Texas. #GoMeanGreen.” The announcement was followed by a statement:

North Texas now has nine verbal commitments to their 2017 class highlighted by center Josh Donovan, JUCO safety Michael Sewell Jr., and Johnson.
