Edric Lambert was one of the focal points on the offensive side of the ball for Norman High School in 2020 as the Tigers went 2-7 and averaged 25.4 points per game. This talented Class of 2022 athlete finished his junior year with 79 rushing yards and one touchdown on 18 carries while snagging 31 passes for 326 receiving yards and five more scores.

The 6’2″, 205-pound, playmaker has good size, strength, and field vision while playing with high intensity and using his excellent athleticism to find gaps through the opposing defense. Lambert is already drawing interest from colleges building up to his first college offer.

Not only does Lambert excel on the gridiron but also on the basketball court and baseball field. In the classroom, this three-sport athlete currently has a 3.48 GPA.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Edric to talk about his junior season and get an update on his recruiting process.

Interview

Edric, how would you grade your individual performance during your junior season?
I would grade my game as an A-minus. I helped a lot in the receiving game this year, was able to carry the ball out of the backfield and make some blocks when it was needed, but I still have many things to improve on.

Which was your best game and why?
My best game was against Mustang. I was able to extend plays and I made the catch to send us into overtime.

What are your strengths on the football field?
My strengths are being a versatile player and being able to find gaps in the defense for runs and catches.

How would you describe what kind of player you are?
Versatile and adaptive. I can play many different positions but I am more of an offensive player.

Did you face any challenges this year?
Yes, sir. Our team had to hit a reset button as we lost a lot of players from the previous season; we went through a rebuilding season.

How did you overcome these challenges?
Each group of positions had players step up and contribute including some athletes from the 2024 class.

How do your skills fit into your school’s offensive scheme?
Our offense was more balanced this year so I was able to help out with blocking, receiving, as well as running the ball too.

What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?
A 4.67.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
I try to model it after Aaron Jones. He is able to read the zones in defense, fit through holes, block, and he is a big factor in the passing game.

What do you like most about playing at Norman?
It brings a higher level of competition. Oklahoma isn’t the biggest state out there, so being in Norman you can compete with other big cities around the area.

Do you play any other sports in high school?
I play basketball and baseball.

What is your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject is math, because it comes naturally to me and it will go along with the major I would like to pursue in college, mechanical engineering.

What are your goals for the offseason?
My goals for this offseason are to increase my 40 time to a 4.5 and get my name out there more.

Are there any schools showing interest in you?
I have a few schools showing interest in me.

What is your GPA?
My current GPA is 3.48 but it is going to increase.

Do you have a favorite quote or Bible verse?
“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”1 Timothy 4:12

Thank you for your time today.
Thank you, sir.
