Oklahoma Sooners Keep Top In-State 2017 CB Justin Broiles at Home

The key to locking down any successful recruiting season is to win the home state. On Monday, Oklahoma went a long way to “winning” the state gaining a verbal commitment from 4-star cornerback Justin Broiles.
Broiles helped lead John Marshall High School into the second round of the Oklahoma High School Playoffs before falling 35-34 to Sulphur in a thrilling game. The Bears posted a 10-2 mark and along the way Broiles cemented himself as a three-way playmaker coming up with 14 receptions for 296 yards with three scores, 121 kick return yards, 125 punt return yards, and 47 stops on defense.
College coaches loved the talent displayed by Broiles with over 30 offers extended. The list of schools wanting the 6’0”, 175 pound, speedster includes Auburn, Texas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Arizona State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oregon, Nebraska, Missouri, Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State among many others.
Broiles visited Norman over the weekend leading to the verbal commitment.
The early energy around the Sooners 2017 recruiting efforts is stronger than the efforts put into the 2016 class. All seven of the 2017 recruits are ranked as 4-stars. OU did not have their seventh verbal commitment to the 2016 class, that stuck with the final class, until early October. Of those seven, three were considered 4-star recruits.
