Oklahoma State added their twelfth verbal commitment to the 2017 recruiting class on Saturday when wide receiver Lamarcus Morton pledged to the Cowboys.

Morton was a big part of Gilmer High School’s run to the Texas 4A state championship game pulling in 34 passes for a team-high 589 yards with another team-high seven touchdowns. Morton pitched in with the run game carrying the ball twice for 44 yards and played in the Buckeyes secondary coming up with 18 tackles, 13 solo, six passes broken up, and two interceptions. Morton was named first team All-District as a wide receiver and second team All-District as a defensive back during his junior campaign.

The recruiting process for Morton really started kicking into gear in April. Louisiana-Monroe offered in March, Texas Tech and Indiana in April, and then UTSA, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, and Houston all in May. Oklahoma State offered on Monday waiting five days for Morton’s commitment.

Morton posted his decision on Twitter captioning his statement with “Thankful #GodIsGood” before adding his statement:
